EMERCOM warns: avalanches possible in mountainous areas of the Kyrgyz Republic

From February 5 to 7, 2026, precipitation is expected in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan, which may lead to snow avalanches. The most hazardous sections of the roads include:

the Bishkek – Osh road, kilometers 198-255: Ala-Bel Pass and Chychkan Gorge;

the Ala-Buka – Kanysh-Kyya road, kilometers 65-101: Chapchyma Pass;

the Krasnaya Gorka – Ak-Tash road, kilometers 0-3;

the Myrza-Ake – Kara-Kulja – Alaykuu road, kilometers 65-110;

the Karakol – Enilchek road, kilometers 45-90: Chon-Ashuu Pass.

Snow drifts are predicted in the specified mountainous areas, as well as slippery roads due to ice. Drivers are advised to maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
