Snow drifts, ice, and snow accumulation are expected on certain sections of the roads
The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan reported a high risk of snow avalanches in mountainous areas and on certain sections of highways. Conditions created by heavy precipitation may lead to the formation of snow accumulation, ice, and snow drifts.
According to the agency, avalanches may occur on sections of the Bishkek—Osh highway from 198 to 255 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge), as well as on 45–90 km of the Karakol—Enilchek road (Chong-Ashuu pass).
In light of the dangerous situation, the Ministry of Emergency Situations strongly recommends that drivers maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles, especially in risky areas of the roads.
