Drivers warned of possible avalanches on mountain roads

From February 11 to 13, precipitation is expected in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan, creating a risk of avalanches and snow drifts. The press service of the Ministry of Transport warns of possible icy conditions and deterioration of road conditions on certain sections of the highways.

The dangerous sections of the roads include:

Bishkek - Osh: km 121–138 (Tоо-Ashuu Pass); km 198–255 (Chychkan Gorge, Ala-Bel Pass);
Suusamyr - Talas - Taraz: km 1–14 (Otmok Pass);
Myza-Ake - Kara-Kuldja - Alayku: km 55–115;
Ala-Buka - Kanysh-Kiya: km 45–112 (Chapchyma Pass);
Krasnaya Gorka - Akhtash: km 0–3;
Sary-Tash - Daroot-Korgon - Karamyk: km 97–98;
Bishkek - Naryn - Torugart: km 292–305 (Dolon Pass);
Aral - Min-Kush: km 1–14;
Balykchy - Kazarman - Jalal-Abad: km 326–349 (Kok-Art Pass);
Karacol - Enilchek: km 45–90 (Chon-Ashuu Pass).

Additionally, from February 11 at 03:40, a restriction on the movement of heavy trucks has been imposed at the Toо-Ashuu Pass on the Bishkek - Osh road, which remains in effect.

Drivers are strongly advised to maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles, take weather conditions into account, and, if possible, avoid traveling on mountain routes unless absolutely necessary.
