Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic with foreign rights are to be required to register

A draft of a new law concerning amendments to legislation on road safety is being discussed in the country. This bill proposes mandatory registration for citizens of Kyrgyzstan who hold driver's licenses issued outside the republic.

According to the proposed amendments to the Law "On Road Traffic in the Kyrgyz Republic," the use of a foreign driver's license without prior registration within the established timeframe will be prohibited on the territory of the country.

The Cabinet of Ministers will determine the procedure and deadlines for this registration.
Additionally, a new article 184-1 is proposed to be introduced into the Code of Offenses, which will address the registration deadlines for foreign licenses. The following fines are stipulated for non-compliance with these deadlines:


The developers of the bill emphasize that these changes are aimed at improving the accounting of drivers and enhancing control over road safety.
