On February 22, a large-scale celebration called "Ay, da Maslenitsa!" will take place in Bishkek, in the square in front of the Ministry of Culture and the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan, located at Pushkin 78. The events are scheduled to begin at 11:00.
The Maslenitsa festival in Bishkek has become not just a mark on the calendar, but a true festival of unity and cultural exchange. The organizers promise to create an atmosphere where different cultures and generations can intersect. The program includes a variety of activities for family leisure: from fun folk games and painting workshops to a crafts fair and national-style face painting. There will be animators and creative areas for children, where everyone can create their own Maslenitsa doll.
The musical part of the celebration will feature professional artists. Groups such as "Souvenir," "Smile," as well as the Caucasian dance ensemble "Islamay" and dancers from "Assol" will perform on stage. Live music and folk rhythms will create an atmosphere of a true celebration for all guests.
The culmination of the event will be the ancient ritual of bidding farewell to winter: a large round dance and the burning of the Maslenitsa effigy, symbolizing the unity of all present in anticipation of spring and renewal. The festival is organized by the cultural center "Harmony" with the support of the Russian embassy, the Bishkek city administration, and the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan.
For nature lovers, similar Maslenitsa events will also take place in the Karagach grove. Residents and guests of the capital are invited to spend this weekend in an atmosphere of warmth and kindness, coming with their families.
