The book tells about the patriots who served in the Red Army
On February 20, 2026, a presentation of the book titled "The Word on the Military Valor of the Red Commander," written by retired Colonel Mazalbek Kabaev, took place in the assembly hall of the Academy of the State National Security Committee named after Lieutenant General A.K. Bakayev in Bishkek. This event was dedicated to the birthday of Zhumabek Asankulov, the former chairman of the KGB of the Kyrgyz SSR.
The event was attended by scholars from the National Academy of Sciences, veterans of the security services, as well as relatives of the author, faculty members, cadets of the Academy of the State National Security Committee, and conscript soldiers.
It is worth noting that Zhumabek Asankulov was born on February 20, 1927, in the village of Keper-Aryk, located in the Moscow district of Chui region. He served in the state security organs from September 1946 until August 1991, rising from an operational officer to the head of the KGB of the Kyrgyz SSR. Asankulov became the first national head of the country's security services and was awarded for his contributions to state security. After retiring, he participated in the establishment of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Kabaev's book is dedicated to Arstanaly Osmonbekov, the first commander of the Kyrgyz cavalry division in the Fergana Valley, who was awarded the Order of the Red Banner for his combat merits to the Motherland.
The organizers of the event emphasized that "the book tells about the heroism of our ancestors who served in the Red Army from 1918 to 1925. The main goal of this presentation is to instill in the youth a spirit of patriotism and loyalty to their country. The documentary-biographical essay about the red commander also has significant historical importance. The Red Army soldiers fought against banditry, protected the local population, built schools, participated in the creation of collective farms, and contributed to the establishment of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region, which marked the beginning of the Kyrgyz Republic's independence," the organizers noted.
