In Moscow, works by Repin, Aivazovsky, Levitan, and Vasnetsov are up for auction

At the auction in Moscow, which will take place on March 1, works by masters such as Ilya Repin, Ivan Aivazovsky, Isaac Levitan, Valentin Serov, and Viktor Vasnetsov will be presented. The total value of the lots reaches 1 billion rubles.

The Moscow auction house has announced that this spring auction will include not only works by the aforementioned artists but also pieces by other well-known masters such as Ivan Shishkin, Vasily Polenov, Konstantin Korovin, and Pyotr Konchalovsky, covering the period from the 18th to the 20th centuries.

According to the press service of the auction house, the catalog includes works that were previously exhibited, including at the Tretyakov Gallery, as well as items from private collections of notable individuals whose names hold significant places in Russian history.

Among the main lots, Aivazovsky's landscape "Moonlit Night in Crimea" from 1861 stands out — its price is set at 60 million rubles, as well as "Moonrise. Village" by Levitan from 1898 and Serov's painting "At Sewing" from 1896, both valued at 50 million rubles. Works by Repin, including "Narcissus" from 1917, will also be presented with an estimate of 45 million rubles.
