The resort "Jyrgalan" will soon be enhanced with new cable cars thanks to the signing of a contract between "Ala-Too Resort" and the company Doppelmayr. The important agreement was signed by Valery Yashin, head of the Russia and CIS division, and the chairman of the board of JSC Zharkynbek Maksutov.
This agreement continues the ambitious project to create a modern ski cluster in the Issyk-Kul region. Earlier, in 2025, an agreement was signed for the construction of two main cable cars, which are planned to be put into operation in May 2026.
According to the new contract, the construction of four additional cable cars in Jyrgalan will be completed by the end of 2026. As a result, by December, the total length of the cable lines will exceed 8 kilometers, and the length of the ski trails will reach 46 kilometers.
First stage of resort development
Valery Yashin emphasized that since 2025, the team of specialists has been engaged not only in building infrastructure but also in developing a master plan for the comprehensive development of Jyrgalan.
This master plan includes the first stage of the project, which covers not only the construction of cable cars but also the accompanying infrastructure. In 2026, large-scale work is planned on the mountain to create a full-service complex, so that by December, tourists can enjoy a level of service comparable to international standards.
Modern technologies and international experience
Company representatives state that the equipment being installed at the resort belongs to advanced technological solutions in this field.
It is noteworthy that about 60 percent of Doppelmayr's projects are implemented in high-altitude areas. Considering that the company operates in 96 countries, this project will be its first experience in Kyrgyzstan.
