Akunbekov expressed his intention to continue five key initiatives that were launched by his predecessor Bakyt Torobaev and highly praised the work of the existing professional team.
“With this team, we will be able to work effectively,” he noted, adding that staff stability will be an important priority.
During the meeting, the First Deputy Minister Zhanibek Kerimaliev discussed current tasks, while Deputy Minister Mirbek Duyshiev presented credit programs in the agricultural sector. Currently, nine projects of state financial support are being implemented in the agro-industrial complex, totaling 13 billion 180 million soms.
The new minister urged the staff to work openly and honestly, expecting results in a short time. He also familiarized himself with the readiness for spring fieldwork and instructed the heads to ensure that farmers are provided with seeds, fuel, and equipment. Akunbekov emphasized that completing the reform in the water sector will be one of the main tasks.
It should be noted that Bakyt Torobaev previously left the ministerial post.
