The father of silver medalist Munarbek Seyitbek uulu from the Paris Olympics has passed away.

The father of silver medalist of the Olympic Games Munarbek Seyitbek uulu passed away on February 26 in Osh at the age of 67. The information was confirmed by the territorial administration of Manas-Ata.

The causes of Seyitbek Toktosunov's death are currently unknown. Farewell and funeral services will be held in Osh.

Munarbek Seyitbek uulu is a silver medalist of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and a bronze medalist of the 2023 World Championship.

He began boxing at the age of eight and graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education of Osh State University. Since 2017, Munarbek has represented the national team, becoming the country champion in 2018 and the vice-champion in 2019.

In 2023, at the World Championship in Tashkent, he won bronze, becoming one of the first medalists in the history of independent Kyrgyzstan.

In 2024, at the Olympics in Paris, he reached the final in the weight category up to 57 kg, where in a tense match he lost to Uzbekistan's Abdumalik Halokov.

For his achievements, Munarbek was awarded a cash prize and a car from the country's president, Sadyr Japarov.
