The company SkyDrive successfully conducted testing of its flying car in Tokyo.

According to information posted on the official website, the tests used the SKYDRIVE SD-05 model. It had previously been showcased at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 and at the vertiport in Osaka.

“During today’s flight, we demonstrated the ability to take off and land in limited spaces, moving from the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition complex to the shore. Safe takeoffs and landings are possible on building rooftops, narrow vertiports, and even in areas with limited takeoff space,” the company stated in a press release.

SkyDrive also reported that vertiports for such vehicles can be installed not only on rooftops. Suitable locations could include parking lots of large shopping centers and squares in front of train stations. This, according to the company, will make air travel a more accessible and popular mode of transportation.

The flight lasted approximately 3.5 minutes, during which the vehicle covered 150 meters at an altitude of 13 meters. Control was conducted both in automatic and remote mode without a pilot on board.
