A team of lawyers has prepared a 47-page document
Bolot Temirov, an investigative journalist, has filed a complaint with the UN Human Rights Committee, which he announced through his social media.
The complaint, consisting of 47 pages and over 100 points, outlines the facts of violations of international journalists' rights, including the right to a fair trial, protection against arbitrary detention, and freedom of opinion, as presented by his team of lawyers providing free legal assistance.
It should be noted that Temirov was detained after conducting a series of investigations. He was charged with drug possession, illegal border crossing, and document forgery. The court found him not guilty in the drug case, but guilty of document forgery, although he was released from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
The decision of the first instance court was upheld by the Bishkek City Court, which also decided to deport Temirov, who holds citizenships of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as an additional penalty for document forgery. The deportation was carried out immediately.
Currently, Bolot Temirov is outside the country and continues his journalistic activities.
