As of March 2, 2026, a new route is being opened for citizens of Kyrgyzstan wishing to leave Iran, which passes through Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, citing information from Turkmen authorities.
Three border crossing points are provided: "Badzhgiran" — accessible only to diplomats, and "Artyk" and "Sarahs" — for all citizens with regular passports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan noted that if there are any questions or the need for additional information, citizens should contact the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Turkmenistan or directly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
