In Bishkek, the running tracks at the Dolon Omurzakov Stadium are temporarily closed. This was reported by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the agency, the first layer of the special surface has already been laid on nine tracks. In accordance with international standards, this layer must undergo a mandatory technological break of at least one year.
Specialists emphasize that the installation of the second, finishing layer is only possible in stable warm weather. Any violation of the technological process or premature opening of the tracks may lead to damage to the surface and ineffective use of budget funds.
It should be noted that the main works on the capital repair and reconstruction of the stadium were completed in 2024, after which the facility was officially put into operation. Currently, work on the running tracks remains to be completed.
Once the entire technological cycle is completed and the second layer is laid, the surface will be accessible to visitors, and the running tracks will be opened.
