The reason for the closure is the necessity to comply with technological standards during the installation of the running tracks.
“At the moment, the first layer of specialized coating has been completed on nine tracks. According to international and construction standards, this layer must undergo a mandatory curing period of at least one year to ensure the strength of the base and the durability of the coating,” noted a representative of the agency.
The second, finishing layer can only be laid under stable warm weather conditions.
“Failure to adhere to the technology or premature use of the coating may lead to its deformation, which would result in ineffective spending of budget funds,” the agency added.
The main repair and reconstruction work was completed in 2024, after which the stadium was officially put into operation. Currently, the installation of the running tracks remains to be completed in strict accordance with the established norms.
After the final installation of the second layer of coating and the completion of the entire technological process, the stadium will be able to operate in normal mode, in accordance with the existing rules for the operation of the sports facility.
