The capital's mayor, Aibek Junushaliev, today launched the construction of underground pedestrian crossings and stops on Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue.
According to the press service of the mayor's office, the project includes the creation of four underground crossings on the section from Semetey Street to Masaliev Avenue. One of the crossings is already operational. In addition, 16 modern bus stop complexes will be installed on the stretch between Akhunbaev and Semetey Streets.
A section of Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue from Masaliev Avenue to Semetey Street is temporarily closed to motor vehicles due to the start of construction work. The mayor urged the responsible services to monitor the quality of the work being done and to complete the project on time. The mayor's office noted that the work began during the holiday period to minimize transportation inconveniences for the residents of the capital.
