Construction of underground passages and stops has begun on Ch. Aitmatov Avenue in Bishkek














On January 1, 2026, the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, officially announced the start of construction of underground pedestrian crossings and modern stops on Chyngyz Aitmatov Avenue. This information was provided by representatives of the city administration.
As part of this project, the creation of four underground crossings is planned in the area from Semetey Street to A. Masaliev Avenue. One of the crossings has already been put into operation on Ch. Aitmatov Avenue. Additionally, 16 new bus stop complexes that meet modern standards are planned to be installed along the section from Akhunbaev Street to Semetey Street.
The city administration also noted that due to the start of construction work, the section of Chyngyz Aitmatov Avenue from A. Masaliev Avenue to Semetey Street is temporarily closed to vehicular traffic.
The head of the city instructed all responsible services to ensure high-quality work and adherence to deadlines to provide maximum convenience for residents.
It is noted that the work began during the holiday period, which will help minimize the load on transportation and reduce inconvenience for residents.
