Starting from January 1, 2026, the section of Chyngyz Aitmatov Avenue will be closed to traffic from Semetey Street to A. Masaliev Street.
The mayor of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Aibek Junushaliev, announced that the road closure will last until January 10.
This restriction is related to a project for the construction of four underground crossings. "In the end, there will be five underground crossings on Chyngyz Aitmatov Avenue, one of which is already completed, and it is also planned to install 16 bus stops," the mayor noted.
It was previously reported that two underground pedestrian crossings would be built on Chyngyz Aitmatov Avenue. In his comment to AKIpress, Rashid Akkuliev, a leading specialist in the Department of Transport and Road Transport Infrastructure Development of the mayor's office, clarified that one crossing will be located at the intersection of Aitmatov Avenue and Minzhylkyeva Street, while the second will be at the intersection with Abdrakhmanov Street.
