As the New Year holidays approach, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports a sharp increase in cases of fraud in messengers and social networks. Malefactors are spreading links disguised as greetings, gifts, and giveaways.

According to the information from the department's press service, fraudsters send messages promising cash prizes or gifts from famous people and government institutions. By clicking on such links, users may find themselves trapped, where they are asked to provide personal data, bank card information, or confirmation codes. This information is then used to steal funds and hack accounts.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges citizens to be cautious and avoid clicking on suspicious links, as well as not to provide personal data, even if the messages appear to be official greetings or come from acquaintances.
If you have become a victim of fraud or suspect a leak of personal information, immediately contact law enforcement at 102.
