
The head of the government announced a significant increase in funding for the cultural sector over the past few years
During the ceremony dedicated to the transfer of 117 official cars to cultural institutions, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev participated.
He noted that annual funding for the cultural sector in Kyrgyzstan is steadily increasing. For instance, if in 2021 the budget was 2.8 billion soms, by 2025 it will increase to 6.9 billion soms, which is almost 2.5 times higher than the previous figure.
In 2026, 176.9 million soms will be allocated for the purchase of 117 cars produced in the country. Last year, 851 million soms were directed towards the development of the material and technical base of cultural institutions.
Kasymaliev emphasized that many cars in cultural institutions have long become outdated and need replacement. He expressed confidence that the new cars will help improve work efficiency and provide a boost for further development in this sector.
Moreover, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that with the improvement of the economic situation, funding for culture will continue to grow. He urged cultural institutions to strive more actively for financial stability and to participate in ensuring their sector by setting relevant tasks for the profile ministry.
