From March 23 to 31, 2026, Turkey will host the VIII International Theater Festival "Samsun," during which the Bishkek City Dramatic Theater named after Arsen Umuraliev will perform. This was reported by the press service of the capital's mayor's office.
This festival, timed to coincide with International Theater Day, will gather theater groups of various formats—from state to amateur—from many countries, creating conditions for cultural exchange and dialogue.
At the festival, the theater will present its season premiere—a tragicomic parable "Takteke," based on the work of the famous Kyrgyz folk poet Kiyalbek Urmanbetov.
This performance touches on philosophical themes, exploring the story of a person who has lost connection with nature and faced inner conflicts.

The production combines elements of ancient epic with modern realities, filling the content with deep reflections and lively humor. The performance has already received recognition from audiences in Bishkek and will be showcased on the international stage of the festival.
