The Third Eye Asian Film Festival, taking place in Mumbai, India, has included the film "Kurak" in its official program. This was reported by the press service of the Film Development Fund.

This year, Kyrgyzstan has become the focus country of the festival, allowing the presentation of five films from this country. "Kurak" was selected for screening as part of the non-competitive curated program.

Director Erke Jumakmatova created this film, which has become the largest international co-production in the history of Central Asia, uniting seven countries: Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland, Serbia, France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Italy. The plot of the film encompasses three intertwined stories about women facing violence and lawlessness in modern Kyrgyzstan.

The project was implemented with the support of the Cinematography Department of the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan, opening new horizons for local filmmakers and representing the first such experience for national cinema.
