In Tokmok, a ceremonial opening of the reconstructed cinema took place, which has become part of a large project aimed at restoring cultural life in the regions of the country. The project was implemented by the LLC "Atlant Cinema" with the financial support of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) at the direct instruction of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, and with the participation of the Cabinet of Ministers.

As part of the project to reconstruct six cinemas in small and medium-sized cities of Kyrgyzstan - such as Batken, Cholpon-Ata, Kerben, Aravan, Tokmok, and the village of Belovodskoye - $1 million 550 thousand was allocated.

The cinema in Tokmok, which was built in 1973, had not been operational for a long time. As a result of the modernization, a major renovation of the 400-seat hall was carried out, modern digital equipment was installed, and new furniture was provided. The reopening of the cinema has become a significant event for the residents of the city.

The initiative aims to create more than 200 jobs across the network and will provide residents of remote areas access to modern cinema, including locally produced films.
