A video has appeared on social media showing how the asphalt surface around the "Manas" stadium in Kara-Suu is experiencing subsidence. The mayor of the city, Islambek Ermamotov, commented on the situation, noting that it was predictable.
He pointed out that a sewage line runs under this part of the road, which is the cause of the ground subsidence. "Everything is fine with the stadium itself. The road is above the sewage system, so such subsidence was expected. We had planned repair work in advance after the ground settled. The responsibility for this part of the road lies with the contracting organization that constructed it," the mayor said. A representative of the contracting organization, OsOO "Ak-Zhol Stroy Nur," Daniyar Abdimital uulu, reported that work in this area was delayed due to the installation of sewage pipes. According to him, during the construction of the sidewalk, excavation work was carried out to a depth of up to five meters. "We warned about the risk of subsidence. However, considering the upcoming opening of the stadium and the expected visit of the president, the work was completed urgently. The contractor responsible for the sewage should have filled the area with gravel and compacted it thoroughly, but only used soil. We immediately pointed out potential quality issues. It has been agreed that the road will undergo repairs again in March next year," Abdimital uulu added.
The municipality confirmed that the condition of the road is under control and is clarifying the timelines for repairs.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the head of OsOO "Ak-Zhol Stroy Nur" is Bakytbek uulu Nursultan, who is also a founder. The main activity of the company is the construction of residential and commercial facilities. It was registered on April 15, 2014, and underwent re-registration on May 30, 2022.
The "Manas" stadium in Kara-Suu opened on September 18, 2025, after a complete reconstruction. The opening ceremony was attended by President Sadyr Japarov, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, the President of the Kyrgyz Football Union, members of the Jogorku Kenesh, and local residents. After the opening ceremony, a match for the Kyrgyzstan Cup will take place at the stadium between the teams "Dordoi" and "Muras United."
The "Manas" stadium, built in 1960, occupies an area of 2.3 hectares and accommodates 5,000 spectators. The reconstruction began in August 2024.
The total cost of the project is 271 million 816 thousand 151 soms. Of this amount, 162.7 million soms were allocated from the republican budget, 22.1 million from the local budget, 9.9 million from the regional development fund, and 9 million soms from the district development fund. Additionally, 47.8 million soms were spent on lighting.
Currently, 202.1 million soms have been spent on construction, and the remaining amount will be used in the following phases.
