Recently, Henley & Partners presented the updated Passport Index for 2026. This ranking includes over a hundred passports and is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Kyrgyzstan ranked 75th, sharing this position with Uzbekistan. Holders of a Kyrgyz passport can visit 61 countries without the need for a visa.

Kazakhstan, on the other hand, took 61st place with visa-free access to 78 countries, making its passport the "strongest" in Central Asia. Tajikistan occupies the 81st position (54 countries), while Turkmenistan is in 87th place (47 countries).

The leaders in this ranking are Singapore (192 countries), as well as Japan and South Korea (188 countries each).

It is worth noting that in 2025, Kyrgyzstan was in 73rd place in the same ranking.

The Passport Index by Henley & Partners is an international ranking of countries that assesses the level of freedom of movement granted to their citizens. The index examines the visa regulations of various countries and ranks them based on the number of states that citizens can enter without a visa.

A country's position in this index is based on the number of states that its citizens can enter without prior visa arrangements (either visa-free or with a visa on arrival).
