According to the new legislation coming into effect on January 20, Russian children under 14 will not be able to travel to countries such as Abkhazia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and South Ossetia using only their birth certificate. This information has been posted on the website of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia.

Now, children will need a foreign passport to travel. At the same time, teenagers over 14 will continue to have the ability to travel to the specified countries with their internal passport of the Russian Federation.
