During the discussion, Iminov highlighted the key goals and objectives of the national council, as well as the activities of the secretariat, which serves as its executive body. He noted that currently, the volume of the virtual assets market in Kyrgyzstan has reached 860 billion soms as of the first half of 2025, indicating a transition to a phase of institutional growth.
Farhat Iminov added that the implementation of initiatives such as the digital som, projects for the tokenization of real assets, increasing the digital financial literacy of the population, and improving legislation will create the necessary conditions for transforming the country into a regional hub for Web3 technologies.
An important point is that KGST has become the first stablecoin among the CIS countries to be listed on the Binance platform, highlighting Kyrgyzstan's achievements in this area.
Iminov also reminded of the agreements reached as a result of the meeting between the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, and the United States, Donald Trump, in November 2025, emphasizing that the digital economy, IT, and artificial intelligence are priorities for Kyrgyz-American cooperation.
The U.S. Ambassador noted that the development of the virtual assets market in Kyrgyzstan is progressing rapidly, distinguishing the country from its Central Asian neighbors. He also pointed out the existing potential for further expansion of this market.
In this regard, there was an expressed interest in deepening cooperation with the Kyrgyz side, including sharing experiences with American government agencies and companies in the regulation and development of virtual assets, as well as organizing specialized programs and training.
