During the meeting, Prime Minister Zandanšatar expressed gratitude to Li Qiang, the head of the State Council of China, for the New Year’s greetings. He noted that Mongolia and China, being neighbors separated only by mountains and rivers, prioritize the development of friendly relations and cooperation in their foreign policy. According to the Prime Minister, cooperation between the countries is growing based on mutual respect for independence and sovereignty, as well as in accordance with the interests and development paths of each side.

Zandanšatar emphasized that during the meeting with Li Qiang in Moscow in November 2025, an agreement was reached to coordinate China’s 15th five-year socio-economic development plan with a similar plan from Mongolia. This cooperation is expected to lead to sustainable economic growth and the development of regional relations.

The Prime Minister also noted that the projects and programs being implemented between Mongolia and China are crucial for achieving tangible results in the socio-economic development of both countries. He confirmed that Mongolia will actively cooperate with China to achieve the goal set by the heads of state to increase bilateral trade turnover to 20 billion US dollars by 2026. Both sides expressed their readiness to actively work on improving transit transportation for delivering Mongolian goods to the markets of third countries.

Ambassador Shen Minjue noted that the stable bilateral trade turnover in the context of a complex global economic situation confirms the enormous potential for expanding economic cooperation between Mongolia and China. She also expressed confidence in the need for further promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
