Chairman of the Friendship Group of Kirov Hosts Mongolian Delegation at the National Assembly

The delegation was headed by Tsend Sandag-Ochir, who is the head of the Mongolia-Bulgaria parliamentary group and the chairman of the Permanent Committee on State Structure.

Also part of the team were: Tserenpil Davaasuren, chairman of the Permanent Committee on Budget, who previously held the position of Minister of Energy from 2017 to 2020 and Minister of Construction and Urban Development in 2023-2024; Bayarbaatar Bayarmagnai, chairman of the Permanent Committee on Ethics and Parliamentary Procedures; as well as Altangerel Oyunsaihan, Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs and leader of the Democratic Party. The delegation also included Erdenebat Sukhbatar, chairman of the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions, who previously led the trade unions in the transport and oil sectors from 2007 to 2013.

During the meeting, opportunities for deepening inter-parliamentary dialogue and exchanging experiences in the work of permanent committees and the legislative process were discussed.

Kirova also informed the guests about the structure and functioning of the National Assembly.

“Our cooperation is not limited to just protocol meetings. It is an active process of mutual learning that encompasses all aspects, from discussing laws to respecting different opinions. Sustainable solutions arise precisely from this exchange,” she noted.

The negotiations also addressed issues of Bulgaria's energy independence, including important aspects of diversifying energy sources and measures to reduce dependence on external supplies.

Additionally, the problems of combating fake news and the influence of social media were discussed, as well as cooperation with professional organizations to ensure public order.

The Mongolian delegation emphasized that parliamentary diplomacy is an important link between the institutions and societies of both countries.
