In the Nogotsky district, two suspects in a car theft were detained after they exchanged the stolen vehicle for another mode of transportation through social media.
According to the press service of the Osh regional internal affairs department, the incident occurred on December 1, 2025.
Citizen M.E., born in 1966, reported to the Nookat district police department that his car, a "VAZ-2107," parked near his home, had been stolen by unknown individuals on the night of December 1.
This case was registered, and further investigative measures were initiated.
As a result of the gathered materials, a criminal case was opened under Article 211 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which deals with illegal acquisition of motor vehicles, and investigative actions commenced.
During operational search activities, two citizens were detained: M.N., born in 2003, and T.M., born in 2007. They were placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation established that the suspects posted an advertisement for the stolen car on social media and exchanged it for another vehicle.
Currently, investigative and operational activities are ongoing.
