During the meeting, current issues related to Kyrgyz-American cooperation were discussed. Special attention was given to the upcoming "B5+1" forum, scheduled for February 4-5, 2026, in Bishkek. Both organizational aspects and the importance of this event for strengthening dialogue and expanding ties between Central Asia and the USA were discussed.

An important item on the agenda was the introduction by the United States of additional visa requirements for Kyrgyz citizens in the B-1/B-2 category. The Kyrgyz side expressed concern about this and noted the significance of creating conditions that facilitate mutual travel between the two countries. Additionally, it was pointed out that these measures could negatively impact commercial contacts and deepen economic cooperation.

L. Vigeri, the U.S. Ambassador, in response emphasized that the new requirements are not directed against Kyrgyzstan but are part of the overall U.S. immigration policy, which takes into account the necessity of complying with visa legislation.

In conclusion, the parties agreed on the need for joint efforts to find acceptable solutions that would help resolve the emerging issues in the visa area.
