Russian Ambassador Sergey Kopyrkin was summoned to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was handed a note of protest. This step was taken in response to statements made by television host Vladimir Solovyov, who declared the necessity for Russia to conduct military operations in the near abroad to ensure national security. Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan reported on this incident.

In the note of protest, deep outrage is expressed regarding Solovyov's words made during a broadcast on a state television channel. Badalyan emphasized that these statements represent an unacceptable interference in Armenia's sovereignty and are a hostile act that grossly violates the fundamental principles of friendship between the two countries.

Earlier, Solovyov stated that the loss of Armenia and Central Asia poses a "gigantic problem" for Russia. He noted: "For us, what is happening in Armenia is much more painful than what is happening in Venezuela," adding that if military actions in Ukraine are required for national security, then similar considerations could be applied to other regions of influence.
