In an interview, Trump stated that the United States intends to begin ground operations against drug cartels, which, according to him, control Mexico. He did not elaborate on his plans for additional details but noted that this decision is very important, as reported by The Hill.

"We will start hitting the cartels on the ground right now. The cartels control Mexico," he said.

Trump also discussed his foreign policy strategy aimed at protecting security in the Western Hemisphere. He expressed the opinion that the main priority is to prevent drug trafficking and the entry of "undesirable individuals" into the United States, adding that moral principles are the most important to him.

In the context of a military operation in Venezuela, Trump emphasized that U.S. actions have contributed to stability in the region.

He also noted that large companies starting operations in Venezuela could significantly increase their revenues, and Caracas would also receive its share of this prosperity.

According to him, the U.S. exported Venezuelan oil worth $4 billion in one day.

Trump added: "That's billions of dollars from oil that could eventually turn into hundreds of billions, and then trillions. We will stay there [in Venezuela] until the situation stabilizes."
The publication notes that his remarks came against the backdrop of a months-long U.S. military campaign against vessels allegedly engaged in drug smuggling in the Caribbean and other regions. Officials from the White House and the Pentagon justified some of the attacks by stating that members of the Venezuelan group Tren de Aragua, which has been designated a terrorist organization, were aboard the vessels.

These actions have drawn criticism from Brazil, Mexico, and Russia, where officials expressed doubts about the future of American intervention in the affairs of other countries.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum previously stated: "Intervention has never led to democracy and has not ensured long-term well-being or stability."

She added that "we are categorically against intervention in the internal affairs of other countries."
