In the North Atlantic, the Russian tanker "Marinera" was seized by American military forces, reports Reuters.

The operation was carried out by the U.S. Coast Guard. At the time of the seizure, Russian military ships and a submarine were nearby, but they did not intervene and simply observed.

It was previously reported that the U.S. had been attempting to detain the tanker "Marinera," which had departed from Venezuela, for more than 17 days. In response, Russia sent its naval forces to escort the vessel.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is monitoring the situation's development. However, there are currently no official comments regarding the legal grounds for the seizure and the future fate of the tanker.
