At a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador Leslie Viguerie, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Meder Abakirov expressed concern regarding the new visa restrictions for citizens of the republic.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the main topic of discussion was the new requirements for the B-1/B-2 visa category, which complicate interactions between businessmen and hinder the development of trade relations. The Kyrgyz side insists on creating more favorable conditions for its citizens' travel.

Leslie Viguerie, for his part, noted that these additional measures are not directed against Kyrgyzstan but are part of the overall immigration policy of the United States. Both sides agreed to cooperate in seeking solutions to visa issues.

Additionally, the diplomats discussed the upcoming "B5+1" forum scheduled for February 4-5 in Bishkek, as well as the current state of bilateral relations.
