The situation regarding the collision of the pleasure boat Korawich Marine 888 and a fishing vessel off the coast of Phuket has been commented on by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 55 people were injured as a result of the incident. Diplomats from the Kyrgyz Embassy in Malaysia, together with the honorary consul in Thailand, promptly conducted a check of the passenger lists and found that two citizens of Kyrgyzstan were among them.
Staff from the diplomatic mission established personal contact with the Kyrgyz nationals to obtain information about their health status and the circumstances of the incident.
According to official data, the Kyrgyz nationals did not sustain serious injuries as a result of the accident. Their health condition is assessed as satisfactory, and they declined the offered medical assistance and hospitalization.
The embassy continues to monitor the situation and maintains contact with the victims. The return of the citizens of Kyrgyzstan to their homeland is scheduled for January 15, 2026.
