Collision of a boat in Phuket: Kyrgyz citizens were not injured — Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic commented on the recent collision of the sightseeing boat Korawich Marine 888 with a fishing vessel in Phuket, which resulted in 55 people being injured. In its statement, the Ministry noted the following:

“The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Malaysia quickly initiated the necessary actions in cooperation with the honorary consul of the country in Thailand to ascertain whether Kyrgyz citizens were on board the boat and to obtain information about their condition.”

As a result of the work carried out, it was established that there were two citizens of Kyrgyzstan on board the boat. Contact was successfully made with them. According to available information, they did not sustain physical injuries, and their health condition is assessed as satisfactory. They declined medical assistance and hospitalization.”

The embassy continues to maintain contact with these citizens and is monitoring the situation. According to preliminary information, their return to Kyrgyzstan is scheduled for January 15, 2026.

We remind you that on Sunday, a collision occurred in the Andaman Sea near Phuket between a boat and a fishing vessel, resulting in 23 tourists being injured.
