An incident occurred in St. George's Bay, Malta, resulting in the death of a 48-year-old woman from Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the Times Of Malta.

According to media reports, on January 11, the woman found herself in a dangerous situation at sea. At that time, a 23-year-old girl was nearby, who was later hospitalized.

The police received a report of the incident around 12:40. Preliminary information indicates that several passersby helped the women by pulling them from the water and providing first aid, the press reports.

Despite the efforts of doctors, they were unable to save the woman. The condition of the second victim is reported to be stable. Maltese authorities have taken control of the investigation.

Information has appeared on Kyrgyz social media from the husband of the deceased and the father of the injured. He stated that he is currently far from his family. The man claims that his wife and daughter were swept out to sea, and they also lost all their documents and mobile phones. He is appealing to his compatriots and citizens of Kazakhstan in Malta for help in establishing contact and support.
