
As a result of an avalanche at the Panticosa resort in the Spanish Pyrenees, three skiers died, and one woman suffered mild hypothermia. This was reported on Monday by the Spanish Civil Guard, as conveyed by RIA Novosti.
The incident occurred at an altitude of about 2200 meters near the Panticosa complex in the province of Huesca. A group of six skiers from the Basque Country was skiing when they were caught in a snow slide.
According to the guard, "two men and one woman died, and another woman was injured with minor injuries. Two members of the group were unharmed." The guard reported the incident on Twitter.
The bodies of the victims remain at the scene of the incident and will be transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Huesca. The woman who was rescued from under the snow was hospitalized with a diagnosis of hypothermia at San Jorge Hospital.
