We are far away and don’t know anyone in Malta, so we are reaching out to all Kyrgyz and Kazakhs who can help. Please, if you have the ability to support our daughter, help her contact the police, ambulance, or embassy, respond! Any assistance is very important right now,” the message states.
This information was confirmed by the Times Of Malta, which reported that on January 11, a 48-year-old Kyrgyz woman drowned in St George's Bay.
A 23-year-old woman, also a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, was with her and was hospitalized.According to the police, the incident became known around 12:40. An initial investigation showed that several passersby helped the two women out of the water and provided assistance.
Medical personnel and civil protection officers arrived at the scene, helping to transport the victims to Mater Dei Hospital.
Unfortunately, it was later revealed that the 48-year-old woman had passed away, while the condition of the second victim is assessed as stable,” the police reported.An investigation is currently underway.
