The event took place on Sunday around 12:40 PM. The woman was in the water with her 23-year-old compatriot when both found themselves in a difficult situation while swimming.
Some witnesses of the incident came to help and pulled the women out of the water, providing first aid until rescuers arrived. Soon, medical personnel and civil protection staff arrived at the scene and transported the victims to a medical facility.
Despite all the efforts of the doctors, the 48-year-old Kyrgyz woman passed away. The 23-year-old woman who was with her is currently in stable condition.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
