In correctional facility No. 10, located in the village of Bai-Munduz, Bazar-Korgon district of the Jalal-Abad region, a tragic incident occurred, resulting in the death of a conscript serviceman A.A.N., born in 2007. He was serving in the 5th guard battalion of the Department of Protection and Escort of the State Penitentiary Service.
According to the press service of the State Penitentiary Service, the accident happened on January 5 at 15:25 during the performance of official duties at the guard post. It has been preliminarily established that for unknown reasons, the soldier fired his service weapon at himself and died on the spot from the injuries sustained.
High-ranking officials, including the Deputy Chairman of the State Penitentiary Service — Head of the Department of Protection and Escort, Colonel Kurmanbek Sokeev, as well as leaders of the relevant services, arrived at the scene to organize an operational investigation.
Representatives of the Bazar-Korgon district police department and the military prosecutor's office of the Jalal-Abad garrison have also joined the investigation. Currently, the military prosecutor's office is conducting investigative actions and collecting the necessary materials.
