The Department of Internal Affairs of the Pervomaisky District has initiated a criminal case under the article concerning "Violation of fire safety rules" according to the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. A fire-technical examination has been appointed, and necessary investigative actions are being conducted.
Four fire crews and an operational headquarters were involved in combating the fire. The fire was completely extinguished, and according to clarification from the Bishkek mayor's office, the ignition occurred in the room of the palliative care department, covering an area of about 30 square meters. The main building of the institution was not damaged.
High-ranking officials arrived at the scene, including the mayor of Bishkek Aibek Junushaliev, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov, and Minister of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration Kanat Sagynbaev.
Due to the incident, 11 people were hospitalized and are under medical supervision due to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. A total of 14 victims were taken to the Clinical Emergency Hospital: 13 with carbon monoxide poisoning and one with first-degree burns. Four patients are in serious condition, and two are in moderate condition, reported Minister of Health Kanaybek Dosmambetov, who also visited the victims.
It is noteworthy that in July 2025, fire-tactical exercises were conducted at the institution, and compliance with safety standards was at an appropriate level. The city head instructed to conduct a review of all documentation to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
