At the meeting chaired by the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Kanibek Dosmambetov, current issues regarding the epidemiological situation with ARVI and influenza were discussed.

The participants analyzed data on morbidity, the burden on medical institutions, and the work of the primary care sector amid the seasonal increase in the number of cases.

According to information from the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, there is a decrease in the number of registered cases of illness in the country.

For instance, if at the end of 2025 there were 15,043 cases of ARVI and influenza recorded, by the first week of 2026, the number of cases had decreased to 9,490, and from January 5 to 8, 2026, there were 6,745 cases registered.
Overall, the epidemiological situation remains stable, and monitoring continues daily in all regions of the country.

According to reports from the heads of children's hospitals and health coordinators, the number of admissions to hospitals corresponds to long-term indicators. However, it should be noted that part of the burden is created by patients going directly to hospitals, bypassing primary care, despite the fact that on weekends and holidays, all family medicine centers had organized duty shifts.

In this regard, the Minister of Health instructed the need to improve the sorting and routing of patients in family medicine centers for more effective distribution of the flow between different levels of medical care.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to issues of prevention and informing the population about health.
