During a working trip to the Osh and Jalal-Abad regions, the First Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aibek Matkerimov, visited the infectious disease hospital of the city clinical hospital in Osh. The main purpose of the visit was to assess the organization of medical assistance to patients with acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, as well as to analyze the bed occupancy in the context of the seasonal increase in morbidity. During the inspection, the hospital director, Shayat Abdurakhmanov, reported that the infectious disease hospital has 270 beds, of which 180 are intended for children, and the rest for adults. Given the seasonal rise in morbidity, there is an increase in the number of visits; however, all patients receive the necessary medical assistance in full. It is important to note that in recent years, including as a result of the administrative-territorial reform, the population and territory of the city of Osh have significantly increased, which in turn creates additional pressure on medical institutions and temporarily leads to high occupancy rates in hospitals. As a result of the visit, Aibek Matkerimov issued a number of specific instructions. In particular, it was instructed to organize the reception of adult patients in alternative departments, while maximizing the use of the infectious disease hospital for assisting children, who are the most vulnerable category during seasonal infections. Furthermore, it was emphasized that it is necessary to strengthen compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards, ensure clear patient routing, uninterrupted operation of medical staff, and quality control of the assistance provided.
