According to information from the AFP agency, U.S. President Donald Trump agreed not to attack Iran thanks to the efforts of the authorities of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. A source in the Saudi government reported that these three states conducted intensive last-minute diplomatic efforts to persuade Trump to give Iran the opportunity to demonstrate its good intentions.

A government official noted that Arab countries continue to negotiate with the American side, aiming to strengthen the trust established and maintain a positive climate in their relations.

According to information previously provided by The Wall Street Journal, Arab states led by Saudi Arabia urged the U.S. to refrain from aggressive actions against Tehran, arguing that an attempt to overthrow the Iranian regime could destabilize oil markets and negatively impact the U.S. economy.

Meanwhile, the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, reported that Trump informed Tehran of his intention not to take military action and called for restraint in response to the situation, avoiding attacks on American facilities in the region.
