On the Bishkek—Osh highway, in the Suusamyr Valley of the Jayil District in Chui Region, traffic inspectors are assisting drivers whose vehicles cannot move due to the severe cold and damaged tires.

This information was provided by the press service of the Road Safety Management (UOBDD) of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate (GUVD) of Chui Region, as reported to the Turmush correspondent.

"At kilometers 131–132 of the Suusamyr Valley, the temperature reached -38 degrees. In such conditions, inspectors ensure safety on the road and work in the specified areas," the statement said.

During the night from January 16 to 17, the severe frost caused some vehicles to have starting problems, while others had burst tires, which left them stranded on the highway. Inspectors provided necessary assistance to the drivers of these vehicles.

Due to the sharp deterioration in weather conditions, the service reminds drivers to exercise caution during long trips. It is recommended to follow traffic rules and avoid unpleasant situations," the agency added.

As of January 17, according to the management, at 10:30 AM, the temperature in the Suusamyr Valley and at the Töö-Ashuu Pass ranged between -41 and -45 degrees.
