On February 25, 2026, a meeting took place in London at the Palace of Westminster, attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev. During the event, he discussed the development of parliamentary ties between Central Asia and the UK with Lindsay Harvey Hoyle, the Speaker of the House of Commons, as well as members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Central Asia, led by Pamela Margaret Cox, a member of the British Parliament, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the discussions, opinions were exchanged on the prospects for inter-parliamentary cooperation between Central Asia and the UK.

Kulubaev also spoke about the recent elections to the Jogorku Kenesh, noting their compliance with both national legislation and international standards, including elements of democracy, competitiveness, and transparency. He emphasized that the parliament is actively involved in the life of the country, playing an important role in the socio-political and socio-economic aspects, as well as in the legislative support of reforms aimed at accelerating economic growth and improving the quality of public governance.

The minister expressed confidence that strengthening parliamentarism and developing contacts between parliaments can effectively complement intergovernmental formats. He also expressed interest in activating Kyrgyz-British inter-parliamentary exchanges, including delegation visits, cooperation between relevant committees, and the exchange of experiences in legislative activities. Considering the rich history of the British Parliament, Kulubaev highlighted the importance of not only political dialogue but also practical cooperation aimed at sharing successful experiences, internships on regulations, procedures, and committee work, as well as mechanisms for parliamentary oversight.
