In 2025, there is an 11% increase in crime among minors in the Kyrgyz Republic. This information was presented by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobur Urmambetov at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dedicated to science, education, and youth affairs.

According to Urmambetov, in 2025, 1,814 crimes committed by individuals under the age of majority were recorded, compared to 1,640 cases in 2024.

“The increase was 11%. Previously, we responded to such incidents mainly based on reports from schools. Now, thanks to video surveillance, as well as reports from citizens and the media, we can identify more offenses,” he noted.

The deputy minister also added that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is implementing the "Safe Country" project, which includes the "Safe City" component.

“Funds have already been allocated for the installation of 20,000 cameras across the country. A total of 656 video cameras have been installed in 440 educational institutions, and work in this direction continues,” concluded Oktobur Urmambetov.
