At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on judicial and legal issues, law enforcement, combating crime, and countering corruption, Prosecutor General Maksat Asanaliev reported on the plans of the General Prosecutor's Office of Kyrgyzstan to complete cases related to land amnesty by 2026.

In 2025, 3,277 violations in the field of oversight of land legislation were recorded. As a result of the work, 1,218 acts of prosecutorial response were submitted, 103 criminal cases were opened, and 516 lawsuits were filed in court.

Thanks to the measures taken, it was possible to recover damages amounting to 3 billion 666 million soms and return 1,356.1 hectares of land to state ownership. In addition, 156 officials were held accountable both disciplinarily and administratively.

The Prosecutor General also emphasized the existence of serious problems of national scale related to land issues.

“The legalization of residential houses built on agricultural lands began in 2022; however, the process was delayed by local land amnesty commissions. To address these issues, a state commission was established by the president under the leadership of the General Prosecutor's Office, which intends to resolve all matters related to land amnesty by 2026,” he added.
